Last night started the new season of my new favorite show on television, "The First 48". This show makes me angry, intrigued, and giddy. It covers so many emotions in just 1 one-hour show. It comes on A&E on Tuesday's at 8PM CST, at least the new season does. At any point during the week you might find re-runs of the old seasons, thank goodness for Tivo. I'm very disappointed that it took me so long to find this show, but now that I have it makes Tuesday's just a little bit better. For those of you that don't know about this show, it basically follows around homicide detectives in a particular city while they attempt to solve a murder. It is called "The First 48" because statistics show that solving a murder case reduces by over 50% when it is not solved in the first 48 hours after the murder. Basically these detectives work non-stop for 48 hours to try and apprehend the suspect, who is presumed innocent until found guilty, but we all REALLY know he/she is guilty. Most of the time they don't apprehend the suspect in the first 48 hours, but they have built enough of a case and collected enough evidence to arrest the suspect. It seems like it is always the third day that they actually make the arrest. What an adrenaline rush it must be. I know that they see and hear things that would frighten most civilians and that is the part of the job that I don't think you can ever get completely used to, but the fact that you are ridding the street of scum and making this world a little safer for children to grow up in is what would keep me going. My hat goes off to all police officers. Thank you for what you do. As long as you like investigative shows, this one will be a hit with you. Give it a looksie if you have A&E and let me know what you think. I give it 5 Roll Tides out of 5.
On to the snoring. I have blogged about this before and not long after I blogged about it the snoring stopped, but it has since picked back up and it is as if it is making up for lost time. If you are new to this blog I'm not talking about myself, I'm talking about my pregnant wife, Teale. It is my hope that blogging about this again will help the snoring to cease, or at the very least tone it down over the next 10 weeks.
<--------------- It is as if I'm lying in bed with this.
I know she can't help it, but my goodness what is MoJo doing to her? When I say snoring, I don't mean what you usually think of which is the sound of a pig snorting or something like that. Nooooooo........this is.........well..........let's all do this as an exercise together. Take a deep, deep breath. I mean really inhale the air. Hold it for about 25 seconds. Now release it. Did you hear that? The sound that you made when you blew the air out? THAT'S IT.......only louder. Now imagine that same sound about every 2 seconds. Yep that is what I'm sleeping with these days. It makes me think of the old cartoons where the bear would be snoring and the roof of the house would rise and fall with every snore. No need to worry about tornadoes here, she will just spin it back in the opposite direction if one dares take the chance at our house. The other night I stayed up late to play X-box and as I came up the stairs I could hear her LOUD and CLEAR before I even opened the door. I was like, "WHAT is going on in there? Is something wrong?" I opened the door and went into the bedroom and there she was...........just sleeping away like the whole world was hers. Nope, nothing wrong........just sleeping. That night it was funny.........it was Friday night.......I got to sleep in the next day. Last night............not so funny. I retreated to the couch and was asleep in seconds. The joys of pregnancy. :)

I sleep with Darth, too. Surely Teale can't trump him. Maybe I'll give him a run for his money when I'm prego.
Hey, it's hard work growing a person! Maybe we should experiment with you sleeping with a concrete block on your chest and see what comes of that... ;) At least in 10 weeks it will be over!
You are just not right, Chad Yeilding. And you make me laugh with your posts. Never know what you're going to come up with next ~ :)
The First 48 is a good show but they spend a lot of time in Tennessee and that makes me nervous. Now about Teale.... I think the concrete block idea isn't such a bad one. lol
I don't know what it is about being pregnant and snoring but I never snored until I was pregnant sometimes I would wake myself up. Thanks for the laugh Im glad Teale can put up with you.
Poor Teale. And now this abuse... :o)
It's only gonna get worse.
I had to laugh about your post. Greg always laughs at me for watching The First 48 (seriously a weekly must see for me). My favorite is Det. Caroline Mason in Memphis. She gets those "tough" gang bangers bawling like big babies - only after she has touched up her hair with the flat iron and mirror she keeps at her desk! I tell Greg all the time that if he gets arrested for homicide (ha ha) to never give a statement! Those guys are such idiots. They totally turn on each other and incriminate themselves. Sheesh!
You already know that I LOVE The First 48!! But I missed the new episode this week! We took the kids to see Wall-E and then went swimming at grandma's...totally forgot...and we don't have the DVR thing yet. I'll have to catch it on a rerun.
I've never seen The first 48..but it sounds interesting!
And the snoring thing made me laugh out loud. Probably because I snored too when I was pregnant with Thomas. It's no fun for anyone in the room..lol.
Ok I laughed so hard when I first read this and the little Darth image made it even better. Of course it was at the expense of Teale. I understand the snoring problem (we have one in our house) and sometimes it is me. My prayers are with you (and Teale) and hope things get better and the snoring gets better. Be sure to come visit us at camp this week would love to see you guys.
do you know if Jason and his kids will come up to adamsville again this year? by his comment up above it doesn't look like it. :( just thought I would ask.
I love The First 48 too! And (I work night shift) and the reruns come on almost every single morning at 2!
Ryan and I love the First 48 too! We like the Miami ones b/c that's where Ryan's dad's family is from...so we like to see where all they go. On the snoring issue, totally laughed out loud b/c I was the same way with both pregnancies! As far as I know it's stopped now...at least Ryan has stopped complaining about it!
